Chillisoft, a cybersecurity specialist distributor, has inked a distribution partnership with Cofense, formerly PhishMe, for its phishing defense solutions.

Cofense's incident response and phishing threat intelligence technology enables security operations and incident response teams to respond quickly to threats in real-time, helping reduce the risk of security breaches.

The solutions also engage employees to be an active line of defense by helping them to recognise and report phishing attacks and other threats.

The deal comes after an extensive search for a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader in security awareness computer-based training, said Chillisoft CEO Alex Teh.

"They also have cutting edge technology that strengthens an organisation’s resiliency to cyber threats."

Chillisoft was looking for a vendor that was not only channel-friendly, but with a history of servicing partners in the managed security services market, Teh said.

“Cofense and Chillisoft will run a 100 per cent channel model in New Zealand in the framework of our distribution partnership," he said.

"As the single route to market, we intend to run a tight deal registration system that ensures double-digit margin retention for all partners working with us.”

Cofense has integrations with email security vendors and security incident and event management vendors such as LogRhythm. The company's Triage anti-phishing product also integrates with next generation firewall vendors such as Palo Alto.

Robert Iannicello, vice president of global channel sales at Cofense said the partnership with Chillisoft meant organisations across New Zealand could benefit from the security solutions and intelligence they need to proactively detect and quickly respond to cyber-attacks.

Chillisoft's Teh said the distributor is integrating Cofense with the rest of its portfolio and running it in Chillisoft Labs to ensure it is testing and supporting the solutions properly.
