Long-serving Microsoft NZ public sector lead Jeff Healey has resigned after seven years with thee company.

Healey announced his departure on LinkedIn saying it was "time for a new challenge".

"During this time I have had an incredible time working with the New Zealand government, ministers, officials, executives, NGO's, partners and my team as they have helped our customers realise their ambitions to deliver better outcomes through technology for the benefit of all New Zealanders," he said.

"The New Zealand public sector agencies have bold ambitions to deliver better services to the citizens of this country, all agencies are at different phases in their journey and over the last seven years I have seen a marked increase in the sharing of best practice across government and indeed across nations - the New Zealand government and the team at Internal affairs have done a great job in encouraging this."

Before joining Microsoft in October 2012, Healey spent 15 years with Hewlett-Packard, finishing there as sales director for the company's networking products for the Asia-Pacific and Japan region.
