SSS - IT Security Specialists has unveiled a new alliance with vArmour in New Zealand, leveraging distribution to deploy tailored security offerings to customers.

Through specialist distributor Katana Technologies, the Wellington-based provider will bring the vendor’s suite of solutions to market locally, spanning application discovery, security policy computation, and micro-segmentation.

“Being able to provide solutions that are a good fit for the New Zealand market and meet our customers’ requirements is really important to us,” said Ashton Jones, general manager of SSS.

“The threat landscape is constantly changing, and our larger customers have an increasing need to protect their most critical applications with easy to implement micro-segmentation.”

According to Jones, well-defined security policies are critical for an organisation to minimise risk. But developing such policies typically requires months of planning using "disparate tools and processes".

“With vArmour, this process is simplified and only takes days,” he added. “We see vArmour as a leader and an innovator in this space and are very excited to announce this partnership.”

With expertise across data centre and cloud security markets, vArmour specialises in security policy management, cyber deception and micro-segmentation.

From a technology standpoint, key vendor partnerships include Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and VMware.

“Across every industry, the impacts of regulations on data security is driving the need for new approaches to security,” added Robert D'Amico, director of Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) at vArmour.

“Regulators and governments are increasing compliance requirements to accelerate the adoption of best practices and stem the tide of security breaches and associated losses.

“Our partnership with SSS will make it easy for customers in the New Zealand market to address these requirements.”

Locally, the alliance will provide SSS customers with a wide range of security solutions, designed to enhance protection levels of technology systems.

“Once again raising the bar for bringing advanced IT security solutions to market, SSS will spearhead our success in New Zealand,” added Steve Rielly, founder of Katana Technologies, a distributor for vArmour.

“The relationships, focus, and ability to execute that the team at SSS brings to the table has already paid dividends from our joint efforts to invest in the local market.”
