Cendio has unveiled plans to enter the New Zealand channel, targeting partners to address growing demand for server-based computing solutions.
As part of a trans-Tasman strategy, the Sweden-based software vendor will be based in the Kiwi market effective immediately, with the aim of recruiting both partners and distributors.
Founded in 1992, the specialist provider created ThinLinc software, which enables applications and desktops to be deployed, managed, supported and executed from a central server.
To facilitate the local entry, the vendor has partnered with Mutex in New Zealand, leveraging expertise across professional support, consultation and implementation services.
Specifically, Mutex is deploying ThinLinc, the Linux-based remote desktop server solution.
“Cendio has had a presence in the region for about 18 months,” Cendio sales manager A/NZ, Aaron Sowry, said. “In this time we have seen strong signs for growth right across the region and are now entering the market in an official capacity.
“Workplaces are looking at more cost-effective and flexible options for providing desktop productivity.
“The Increasingly complex and expensive solutions that organisations already have in place are often failing to deliver this effectively, so our aim is to provide an attractive alternative.”
From a local perspective, ThinLinc was recently deployed as part of a Taranaki-based conservation initiative to assist with GPS tracking of domestic cats, designed to provide insights into the animal’s movements.
ThinLinc provides researchers with a “virtual office”, where the cats' movement data is logged and presented graphically in a geographical information system.
Furthermore, Sowry said a large industrial agriculture organisation is also using the solution to allow workers access to GIS systems, for mapping farm hazards.
“We will be actively looking to expand our reach into the market with strategic reseller partnerships in 2018, and consolidate the fast growth we’ve already experienced to date,” Sowry added.
“Launching the company officially in A/NZ is basically announcing that we see heaps of potential here for our solution, and that we are here to help businesses of all sizes gain real value from it as they have in other locations around the world.”
