Sophos has appointed Arrow as a third distributor in New Zealand, as the security specialists bolster capabilities across the channel.
Reseller News can reveal that the change represents an extension of the vendor’s current agreement in Australia, and will be effective 1 May.
As a result, Arrow joins Exeed and SnapperNet in carrying the entire Sophos portfolio across the country.
“New Zealand is a growing market for Sophos and we’re putting more investment into the local business,” Sophos channel director of Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), Jon Fox, told Reseller News.
“From a distribution perspective, we partner with Arrow in Australia and they provide a great service to our channel.
“Arrow is a security focused distributor who works with a lot of trans-Tasman partners, which makes this appointment a natural progression of our partnership.”
Sophos’ decision to extend agreements in New Zealand bucks a local trend in the market, following a round of distribution streamlining locally.
“This provides us with three distributors in New Zealand that are very different in terms of go-to-market strategies,” Fox added. “They all have different strengths and because of this, we believe they can add value to our partners in multiple ways.
“We’re actively targeting security focused partners because New Zealand is a strong market for dedicated specialists.
“We’re also seeing greater traction with the larger partners locally, as well as our small business channel which remains incredibly important.”
Specific to partner types, Fox said managed service providers (MSPs) continue to be central to future growth ambitions locally, backed up by a revamped channel program.
“We have a great program in place to help the channel be successful,” Fox said. “New Zealand represents a huge growth opportunity for MSPs, and this program is perfect to realise those ambitions in the local market.”
