Grant Baty (The Instillery)
The Instillery has appointed Grant Baty as principal consultant, recruiting the technical specialist from Mercury Energy.
Effective February, Baty is tasked with driving adoption of public cloud technologies across enterprise and government agencies in New Zealand.
“Grant shares our passion about the positive impact of public cloud and he demonstrates a clear vision married with the technical ability to deliver,” The Instillery founder and CEO, Mike Jenkins, told Reseller News.

Leveraging more than 15 years of enterprise IT experience across utility and health industries, Baty has specialised in cloud and automation during the past seven years.
Most recently, Baty was cloud and infrastructure manager at Mercury, alongside a stint as head of the cloud centre of excellence.
“I’m really looking forward to working with The Instillery and continuing to demonstrate the value of public cloud to enterprise organisations,” Baty added.
“Working with this highly skilled team means I’ll be in a position to help more Kiwi businesses realise the benefits of public cloud and produce some exciting products for customers.”
The new hire comes six months after the Auckland-based business signed a partnership with Google Cloud, leveraging the tech giant’s platform to expand cloud capabilities across New Zealand.
Revealed via Reseller News, the agreement sees the technology provider become one of the first Kiwi partners to leverage the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) nationwide.
Furthermore, the business secured a double partnership on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in August 2017, with public cloud expansion plans continuing through Advanced Consulting and Authorised Public Sector partner statuses.
Confirmed on the eve of the AWS Public Sector Summit in Canberra on 30 August, the double addition of two new partner designations adds weight to the New Zealand-based cloud provider’s bid for further growth across government and enterprise markets.
