Dicker Data and Aerohive part ways in NZ

Decision ends a distribution agreement that lasted almost two years

Dicker Data and Aerohive Networks have parted ways in New Zealand, ending a distribution agreement that lasted almost two years.

Effective 21 August 2017, the move will now see the vendor represented by Sektor New Zealand across the country, spanning a product portfolio which includes wireless, cloud, networking and mobility technologies.

“Whilst the Aerohive portfolio gave us additional wireless solution capabilities into our networking business, we have decided to part ways with them on reviewing our long-term networking business roadmap,” Dicker Data COO A/NZ Vlad Mitnovetski told Reseller News.

From 21 August, Mitnovetski advised all existing Aerohive partners to contact Sektor New Zealand for quotes and orders.

“Dicker Data New Zealand would like to thank Aerohive for nearly two successful years of networking and wireless solutions, and we are glad that we have been able to agree on amicable terms of departure," Mitnovetski said. "We wish Aerohive all the very best.”

As reported by Reseller News, the networking vendor appointed Dicker Data locally in August 2015, in a move designed to leverage the networking capabilities and reach of the distributor in the Kiwi market.

The decision follows a busy few months for Dicker Data in the market, with Wendy O’Keeffe joining the business as non-executive director in April.

With a wealth of experience across the channel, particularly in distribution, O’Keeffe brings over 25 years of expertise and knowledge to the table, having held management roles at Westcon-Comstor and Tech Pacific, before it was acquired by Ingram Micro.

In addition, the business was also awarded an exclusive distribution contract by TeamViewer in New Zealand, a global software provider for digital networking and collaboration.

Terms of the deal will see Dicker Data distribute the German-based vendor’s portfolio across the country, which consists of remote control, remote support, remote access and Internet of Things solutions.

Building on a strong New Zealand install base, TeamViewer and Dicker Data will be launching subscription licenses within the first half of the year.
