Global cyber security vendor strikes deal with specialist NZ distie

Imperva expands reach across New Zealand with specialist distribution deal.

Imperva has joined forces with Auckland-based specialist distributor MPA, as the global cyber security vendor expands its reach across New Zealand.

Based in California, US, the NASDAQ-listed organisation specialises in web application firewalls, with over 4,800 customers and more than 500 partners in 100 countries worldwide.

Terms of the deal locally will see MPA distribute and support Imperva's Incapsula and Securesphere products in New Zealand, with customer support previously managed from Australia.

“Government departments, local bodies, and local medium, large and corporate businesses will benefit from better access to and support for these unique products,” MPA New Zealand Managing Director, Steve Macmillan, said.

Imperva specialises in providing DDos (distributed denial of service attack) protection, application security and database security offerings, which includes Incapsula cloud-based website security and Securesphere data-protection technologies.

After investing more than US$100 million in research and development (R&D) during the past three years, the cyber security vendor targets a broad range of channel partners, including value-added resellers, system integrators, service providers and cloud providers.

“The New Zealand market is important to Imperva, and this partnership with MPA will allow us to expand our footprint and strengthen our innovative cyber security solution offering to local businesses,” Imperva Country Manager of Australia and New Zealand, Chris Wood, added.

Specifically, Wood said the partnership with MPA will benefit New Zealand businesses with more responsive and more cost-effective offerings that are tailored to changing customer needs.

“Having MPA as a partner better enables us to meet New Zealand businesses' growing need to protect their business-critical data and applications within and outside of the cloud,” he added.

With over 25 years of experience in the local channel, MPA is a New Zealand-owned IT distribution specialist with expertise across security, infrastructure and professional services.

From a security standpoint, the distributor provides products from Gemalto, BlackBerry, Accellion, Protocol Policy Systems, Entrust, AEP Networks and BeyondTrust in New Zealand.
