Microsoft New Zealand has announced finalists for its 2017 Microsoft Partner Awards, with digital transformation front and centre for the Kiwi channel.
Set for 11 April in Auckland, the 10th anniversary of the awards will recognise excellence in the IT sector from partners across the country that integrate Microsoft solutions into products and services.
Microsoft New Zealand Director for Small and Midmarket Solutions, Phil Goldie - appointed to the role in early March - said the entries reflect how digital transformation has become the top priority for the Kiwi IT sector.
“Microsoft New Zealand’s partner ecosystem boasts some of the most innovative IT companies in the world, and over the 10 years since the inception of the awards programme, the partner channel has matured, grown in capability, and transformed toward cloud-based services,” Goldie said.
“The need for Kiwi businesses to transform digitally has never been more urgent, and the work our partner companies are doing across the country is taking New Zealand businesses and organisations on that journey in innovative and forward thinking ways."
The unveiling of the finalists follows news that a sizeable gap remains between the digital transformation ambitions of New Zealand businesses and the reality, with only 36 per cent of Kiwi organisations currently having a full digital transformation strategy in place.
With digital adoption in New Zealand still in its infancy, the awards will showcase those partners outpacing the market, bringing innovation to the industry along the way.
“The quality of entries from the New Zealand partner channel is very high, much like the Australian partner network with whom I have worked with most recently," Goldie added. "The judges will have a tough job ahead of them to choose the winning solutions from this year’s crop."
