EXCLUSIVE: Aruba hires ex-ViFX CEO as NZ Country Manager

Hewlett Packard Enterprise recruits from ViFX and IBM veteran.

Aruba Networks has appointed former ViFX CEO, Andrew Fox, to the role of Country Manager of New Zealand.

Effective immediately, the Hewlett Packard Enterprise company will look to leverage Fox’s vast experience in the local ICT industry, following nine years at IBM.

As reported by Reseller News in March 2015, the $US2.7 billion acquisition of Aruba Networks in then HP's networking business, if managed properly, could be a key strategic move for the tech giant.

Consequently, Fox will no doubt be charged with helping Hewlett Packard Enterprise close the widening gap between itself and Cisco from a next generation network access solution point of view.

In addition, Fox will be tasked with managing the vendor’s ongoing OEM and joint partnerships with vendors like Alcatel-Lucent, Dell, Juniper and Brocade, which has been touted as a strong challenge for Aruba following the acquisition.

Fox joins the company after departing ViFX in May 2015, having taken charge of the company’s infrastructure and cloud transformation strategy in New Zealand.

Before ViFX, Fox was General Manager of Global Technology Services at IBM, leading a team providing data centre hosting, IT outsourcing, cloud services, implementation and maintenance services to New Zealand’s top businesses.

During his time at IBM, Fox also worked as a Manager of Systems and Technology, and is also currently Director of Jumping Fox Interactive, a niche B2B marketing agency operating out of New Zealand.
