Exeed, Ingram Micro and Sektor - the new Hewlett Packard Enterprise distributors in New Zealand.

Following a long-winded, and much publicised distribution review, sources close to Reseller News can confirm that the tech giant has come to a decision regarding its Kiwi operations, and it’s basically more of the same.

Unsurprisingly, well performing Hewlett Packard Enterprise distributors Exeed and Ingram Micro have regained positions within the market, alongside new player Sektor - who takes over the company’s Aruba Networks portfolio, effective May 1, 2016.

Acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise for $US2.7 billion in 2015, the Aruba Networks catalogue and the Hewlett Packard Enterprise networking solutions will now fall under Sektor, who now continues its role without Connector Systems, which was recently acquired by Ingram Micro.

As reported exclusively by Reseller News last week, the decision - albeit delayed three days from its original February 8 deadline - effectively restores order in the New Zealand channel, following a week of uncertainty for local distributors.

“Subsequent to the recent acquisition of Aruba, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Group undertook an RFI (Request For Information) process to review and optimise the combined distribution framework available to our valued resellers,” an official Hewlett Packard Enterprise email to partners stated.

“The aim was to consolidate and better serve the channel in South Pacific. Existing HPE and Aruba partners were asked to participate in the RFI process.

“After an extensive review by an RFI panel consisting of delegates from across the organisation, the decisions have been reached with respect to which of the existing Distributors will be appointed as HPE Distributors moving forward, providing products for the combined Enterprise Group solutions, including Aruba.”

Of note is that the RFI did not include the HPE Software Business Unit, with the company stating that distributors currently Distributing HPE Software are not impacted by this RFI announcement.
