AT&T and Brocade join forces to extend Network on Demand platform

AT&T is working with Brocade to enable routing functions to be delivered from the cloud.

AT&T is utilising Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) technologies to create on-demand services, leading a shift to next generation networking.

Going forward, AT&T is working with Brocade to enable routing functions to be delivered from the cloud.

The new on-demand Managed Internet Service uses SDN and NFV technologies to deploy virtualised access routers and automate control in its core network.

“Brocade is proud to work with AT&T on their industry-leading innovations bringing agile, New IP network services to customers,” says Gary Denman, senior director Australia and New Zealand, Brocade.

“The cloud model taught the world that virtualising the IT infrastructure speeds service delivery and provides greater flexibility.

“With Network on Demand, AT&T has proven this also holds true for enterprise network services.”

AT&T is working with Brocade to enhance its Managed Internet Service on Demand, so customers don’t need a router at their location.

“With the support of their technology, customers will experience faster installations and more dynamic control of their network service,” adds Roman Pacewicz, senior vice president, Marketing and Global Strategy, AT&T.

“With new Network on Demand capabilities, we’re continuing to make our network dynamic and adaptive.

“This will enable the agility, speed and efficiency our business customers need. Managed Internet Service on Demand will be available in select U.S. cities later this fall.”
