"Major coup" as Microsoft NZ hands over cloud baton to Intergen

“This is a major coup for Intergen, and a public endorsement of the breadth and quality of our services."

Microsoft New Zealand has named technology company Intergen as a Tier 1 Cloud Solution Provider.

To achieve Tier 1 status with Microsoft, Intergen had to demonstrate strong capabilities across four areas: its services business model, scale, support services and infrastructure, and clear, customer-focused invoicing.

“This is a major coup for Intergen, and a public endorsement of the breadth and quality of our services,” says John Bessey, Director of Marketing and Client Development, Intergen.

Tier 1 partners directly manage the entire Microsoft cloud customer lifecycle, entrusted by the tech giant to provide expert guidance on existing and emerging services.

Given the rapidly changing technology landscape, Brent Kendrick, Microsoft New Zealand’s Director Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partners believes this ability is important for New Zealand businesses.

Kendrick says customers benefit from having a single point of contact for all Microsoft Cloud Services and having someone close to their business advising them on the best options.

"Intergen’s proven history of helping customers transform their business is now enhanced through their appointment to CSP status,” he adds.

“They can now offer Microsoft Cloud services and add additional business value through packaging their own services alongside and manage the customer experience from billing to provisioning and support.”

For Bessey, the move allows clients to better source IT services from one provider, regardless of size or lifecycle stage.

In addition, Bessey says that studies show that two out of three customers expect to purchase most of their cloud services from a single vendor, with 84 percent seeking to trust one vendor as a Cloud Service Provider.

“The CSP status allows us to simplify how our clients consume cloud services – from one partner on one invoice,” he adds.

“It also allows us to build IP into cloud solutions which can be sold across multiple clients, helping our clients get faster time to value on their business solutions investments.”
