Disaster averted as Veeam gives CCL gold seal of approval

“Achieving Gold status within Veeam’s ProPartner Program is an exciting step for us."

Computer Concepts Limited (CCL) has been named a Gold level ProPartner in the Veeam ProPartner Program, awarded following the enhancements Veeam made to its ProPartner Program, announced in July.

“Achieving Gold status within Veeam’s ProPartner Program is an exciting step for us,” says Andrew Allan, CEO, CCL.

“With today’s businesses working 24/7/365 it’s important to have a non-disruptive and high availability solution that delivers fast restore times in the event of a disaster.

“At CCL when it comes to delivering cutting edge solutions we pride ourselves on having not just read the map, but having travelled the road; this is especially true in backup and disaster recovery.

“Achieving gold partner status with Veeam further validates our efforts and achievements in this space.”

For Allan, in being headquartered in Christchurch, the events of the last few years have highlighted the importance of having a quality disaster recovery solution.

“During the Christchurch earthquakes the [CCL] data centre never missed a beat,” Allan adds. “Our engineers spent long hours over many months helping local businesses get back on their feet, recovering lost data from damaged hardware.

“Availability solutions that Veeam offers would have saved many businesses a lot of stress, time and money.”

Formed in 1990 by Darryl Swann, the current Managing Director, over the past 20 years CCL has grown to 192 staff, operating out of six offices nationwide.

Throughout the years CCL has invested heavily in building New Zealand’s IT backbone including their flagship Tier3+ Data Centre in Christchurch which utilises a custom built “green” water cooling system.

“The feedback we have had from our customers is that they are amazed with Veeam’s performance,” says Daniel van Trierum, Senior Engineer, CCL.

“We have recently had a customer who had to restore one of their main file servers and it was an extremely easy and rapid process using Veeam’s solution.

“I’m equally impressed with Veeam’s monitoring and replication tools. Veeam’s environment monitoring takes no time to set up and has assisted in finding issues our clients didn’t even know they had.

“Veeam’s replication provide an easy to use alternative in the market, removing a lot of the limitations and complexities of other tools.”

For Allan, this an important addition to CCL’s disaster recovery portfolio and gets the company “even closer” to removing the pain of backups for New Zealand businesses.

“By combining solutions like Veeam and CCL’s Hybrid Cloud service it’s now possible to easily manage offsite backups, securely storing them in the cloud and having them available for rapid recovery should the worst happen,” he adds.

Across the Kiwi market, CCL provide a large variety of services and end to end IT solutions including: Infrastructure as a Service, cloud computing, procurement services, high performance End User Computing (EUC), security and network management as well as a suite of managed services and a 24/7/365 IT Resolution Service desk.

“We are very proud of the strides that CCL has made within Veeam’s ProPartner Program,” adds Peter Vender, Head of Alliances and Channel for A/NZ, Veeam.

“As a key partner for the New Zealand market, CCL has a deep understanding of the opportunities within the market.

“We are confident that with its highly qualified engineers and excellent sales team, CCL is well placed to support their customer’s requirements of high availability.”
