SnapperNet unveils new NZ portfolio of M2M and IoT technologies

“Our partnership allows New Zealand customers for the first time to have access to Cradlepoint’s routers and other networking products."

New Zealand owned and operated Snapper Network Distributors has announced a new distribution agreement and partnership with Idaho-based company Cradlepoint, to provide solutions across data, cloud, security and the evolving Internet of Things.

Richard Paul, Managing Director for SnapperNet Distributors, says Cradlepoint’s products will provide 3G/4G/LTE network solutions, and focus on Machine-to-Machine, transportation and the Internet-of-Things solutions.

“In the States, companies like American Apparel uses Cradlepoint's MBR series and Enterprise Cloud Manager for high-speed failover, cloud-based networking management and VPN support,” Paul says.

“Our partnership allows New Zealand customers for the first time to have access to Cradlepoint’s routers and other networking products.

“These products will help distributed enterprises improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experiences by delivering 4G LTE networking solutions engineered to perform exactly as needed.

“This teaming up with Cradlepoint helps us to complete our range in this space - it gives us tools that we can offer integrators for specific market segments like transport, retail (POS) and health.”

Cradlepoint plays in three key segments - networking, where its products and services compete with the likes of Cisco and Juniper; wireless, competing with Aruba, Ruckus, Motorola and Aerohive; and the Internet-of-Things/M2M market.

This third sector of M2M and IoT is key for Cradlepoint, which has its origins in that space.

Within that space, Cradlepoint’s product sets connect three key areas: networks in motion (transport logistics and ‘anything that moves’), connected people (enterprise mobility devices connecting into the network) and connected networks (ATM machines, video, security and surveillance, HPAC monitoring and control.

“We’re very excited about our partnership with SnapperNet and the opportunity to expand our brand as the global leader in 4G LTE network solutions in New Zealand,” says Adnon Dow, Sr. VP World Wide Channels, Cradlepoint.

“Enterprises are looking at the benefits of cloud-delivered 4G LTE WAN solutions more than ever, so we always want to be top of mind and M2M Connectivity will help us to do that.”

Paul says the potential for expansion in the M2M and IoT space is huge for the company and because of this SnapperNet is seeking to appoint a full time Business Development Manager to work with the Cradlepoint offerings.

“We’re about to start the recruiting process and we’re happy to hear from candidates with extensive experience in the networking area who understand these products and can communicate their merits to customers,” he adds.

“It’s vital that this role be filled by someone with strong business development skills.”

Paul says that Cradlepoint will only be sold via approved partners (integrators) by SnapperNet - once they have their partners in place, Cradlepoint products will only be available for purchase from them.

Going forward, Paul says that they will handpick a small group of integrators that have the verticals, core competencies and skills to retail Cradlepoint’s products.

“We need integrators that are able to sell and support Cradlepoint’s products effectively,” he says.

“And they must be geographically located so we are able to cover the entire country and are not too heavily weighted in one area.”

At present, Paul says SnapperNet is currently evaluating integrators and those who feel they fit SnapperNet’s brief are invited to reach out.
