Mapping systems provider Spatial Vision has announced a partnership with GIS Cloud, a multinational provider of next-generation Cloud-computing that manages location information.
Terms of the deal effectively see Spatial Vision as the GIS Cloud partner for Australia and New Zealand.
GIS Cloud develops mapping technologies designed to provide an alternative for visualising, analysing, collecting and sharing geospatial data.
Distributed as a Software as a Service (SaaS), as the reseller of GIS Cloud, Spatial Vision now aims to extend this opportunity to organisations operating in Australia and New Zealand.
“Cloud technology is a game changer,” says Glenn Cockerton, Managing Director, Spatial Vision.
“For many organisations, desktop/server web mapping solutions are expensive, inflexible and resource-dependent.

At present, GIS Cloud solutions adapt to the growth of each organisation and remove the need to purchase, maintain, upgrade and resource IT services.

According to Cockerton, a fundamental feature of GIS Cloud’s mapping solutions is Mobile Data Collection, which provides customers with immediate access to their assets and information in the field.
“With GIS Cloud’s Mobile Data Collection, customers can instantaneously observe and report issues, such as broken signs or graffiti,” he adds.
“Information can be sent directly from your iOS or Android device in seconds, reorganising project management into an incredibly easy and collaborative task.”
Echoing Cockerton’s comments, Farkas claims that different industries find Mobile Data Collection useful because it adapts to their needs and gives endless options to tailor the collection process.
