Security specialist firm aims to improve NZ Office 365 migration this month

Centrify aims to enable “quicker, cheaper and safer migration” to Office 365 in New Zealand by the end of this month.

Cyber threat solutions provider Centrify Corporation claims it will enable “quicker, cheaper and safer migration” to Office 365 in New Zealand by the end of this month.

Fresh from revealing enhancements in secure user provisioning, licence management, single sign on (SSO) and mobile device management for Office 365, Centrify hopes the move will help build on its already well-established presence in New Zealand.

Centrify Identity Service (CIS) for Office 365 runs on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and is also Microsoft-certified as a “Works with Office 365” identity partner solution with Office 365 systems integrators partnering with Centrify to help customers fast-track Office 365 service consumption.

Centrify Chief Product Officer Bill Mann believes strong interest in Office 365 has organisations scrambling for ways to streamline deployment while maximising productivity and security.

“Centrify simplifies and accelerates migration and adoption of Office 365,” he says.

“Users get single sign-on across all devices and IT can automate provisioning, centralise management and better enforce access policies.”

Mann says that the Office 365 licence consumption is consolidated and automatically tracked directly within CIS, while also allowing customers to implement granular security policies to ensure only the right users have access to Office 365.

According to Mann, moving into the cloud with Office 365 takes lots of planning, and hours of execution, and the typical all-at-once “cutover” to the cloud can be daunting.

“With CIS, customers can migrate on their own schedule - typically in just days versus many weeks - with full support for hybrid environments, without impacting user productivity,” he adds.

Additionally, Mann says CIS provides flexibility and choice so customers can determine what remains on-premises, and what gets migrated to the cloud.

“CIS includes the newly created On-premises App Gateway, which enables organisations to elect to keep their SharePoint deployment on-premises, and move only their mail to Office 365,” he explains.

“CIS App Gateway provides secure, encrypted access to behind-the-firewall SharePoint, with integrated SSO and no need for VPN clients or configuration.

“Now, whether deployed in the cloud, or in your building, users get secure one-click access, and IT gets policy-based control and visibility.”
