Growing NZ partner demand triggers Hitachi Data Systems Auckland hire

“We applaud the continued investment from HDS in partnership and in our region.”

Hitachi Data Systems has appointed Jacques Cronjé as territory manager for Auckland, New Zealand, responsible for building and supporting the company’s growing customer base and partner ecosystem in the region.

According to the wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, the appointment is in response to significant opportunities and growth in the New Zealand market.

Over the last 18 months, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has brought on 20 new partners across New Zealand and Australia in order to support emerging demand in the market for cloud, convergence, data mobility, data protection, big data analytics, and Internet of Things.

The partners will round out the skills, capabilities and solutions required by end users with 2014 HDS ANZ Partner of the Year, Revera, a New Zealand-based cloud service provider and long-standing HDS partner, set to be one of the partners benefitting from Cronjé’s appointment.

“Hitachi Data Systems shares our commitment to partnership as a means to deliver innovative services and solutions as market demands and customer requirements continue to evolve,” says Keith Archibald, Head of Innovation, Revera.

“Close collaboration with partners such as HDS, who are aligned to our vision, strategy, services and solutions, ensures that we can deliver the high performance, end-to-end experience, and business outcomes our customers expect.

“We applaud the continued investment from HDS in partnership and in our region.”

Cronjé has more than 20 years experience in the IT sector, and specialises in cloud, disaster recovery, virtualisation and storage technologies.

Joining HDS from Fujitsu, Cronjé was previously responsible for business development and client management across a broad portfolio of Auckland customers.

Prior to settling in New Zealand, Cronjé held positions with a number of top-tier companies in the UK and South Africa, including Persetel, Barclays and Ernst & Young.

“As more organisations look to transform through cloud, virtualisation and managed services, HDS understands that partnership and collaboration is critical,” adds Laurence Cole, Corporate Sales Director, HDS A/NZ.

“We continue to deepen and grow our partner relationships in order to engage with and support end users in a way that helps them achieve their desired business outcomes.

“Our appointment of Jacques will support that mission.

"Furthermore, with his deep IT and professional services consulting experience, Jacques will offer unique insights and business value to the growing New Zealand partner ecosystem and customer base he will support.”
