Boost for partners as Distribution Central launches DC CloudSelect Marketplace

“Put simply, DC CloudSelect Marketplace is our solution for the cloud-born challenges that partners are facing.”

Distribution Central has launched its DC CloudSelect marketplace, designed specifically for resellers, managed service providers, cloud service providers and partners born in the Cloud.

In 2013 the ever-growing distributor launched its DC CloudSelect service with an online configurator, billing engine and cloud-enabled solutions - CloudPODs - to enable partners to deliver cloud solutions to their customers.

Two years later the DC CloudSelect Marketplace overhauls this service by delivering a fully customised portal that acts as a single interface for resellers to consume and manage cloud services, being billed as an innovative open standards-based Cloud services platform.

It is a single platform for the procurement, provisioning, integration, orchestration, and management of cloud solutions, services and aggregated billing, revamping the original configurator and billing engine and also including extensive analytics.

DC CloudSelect Marketplace also enables partners to deliver “Anything-as-a-Service” solutions to their customers and to white-label and present their own marketplace to their customers.

“DC has always been focused on enabling partners to address the ever changing challenges in the IT industry and ensuring they continue to deliver value to their customers,” says Nick Verykios, Managing Director, Distribution Central.

“Put simply, DC CloudSelect Marketplace is our solution for the Cloud-born challenges that partners are facing, which require them to transform their businesses - delivering Cloud services and being able to fulfil these services through a transactional e-commerce model.

“Our objective is to remove the complexity associated with these challenges and to ensure partners have a profitable journey as they transition their business to deliver Cloud services.

“DC CloudSelect is unique amongst other distributor solutions because of the extent to which it enables partners; it offers a large products and services catalogue and the ability to aggregate, orchestrate and manage end user Cloud environments.

“Partners get a single bill from DC and can present and manage multiple solutions to their customers, whilst having complete control over their customers’ Cloud environments.”

Also, Verykios says resellers need to consider not just the infrastructure required to deliver a cloud service, but how they will optimise performance and secure the cloud environment.

“For this reason the DC CloudSelect Marketplace catalogue offers Cloud-based solutions that address these business problems and challenges,” he adds.

DC CloudSelect Marketplace has been led by Distribution Central’s APAC Cloud Practice Manager, Harris Loefti, and is being launched with more than 200 products and services, which will continue to increase over time.

At present, key cloud providers include Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Softlayer (an IBM company) and the products and services catalogue also includes solutions from DC’s existing vendor partnerships such as Blue Coat, CommVault, Equinix, F5 Networks, NetApp, Palo Alto Networks, Riverbed, Seagate, SimpliVity and Sophos.

“We have also worked closely with our vendor partners and integrated APIs across our solutions to deliver a seamless experience for our partners and their customers,” Verykios adds.

“This speaks to the investment we have made in making DC CloudSelect Marketplace the ultimate cloud services platform for our partners, and we are excited about the value it will deliver to the channel.”

According to Verykios, the key features of DC CloudSelect Marketplace are focused around a strong cloud products and services ecosystem, vendor-specific partner pricing and the ability to white-label and present an individual marketplace to customers.

Further new features include aggregated ordering and billing for multiple products, services and billing cycles, complete control of customers’ cloud environments and also tbility to consume cloud services through automation and orchestration while managing workloads through a customisable control panel.
