EXCLUSIVE: Koorb aims for three in a row at Microsoft NZ Partner show

The 87th Academy Awards may have just passed, but in New Zealand, awards season fever is well and truly underway as the industry awaits the 2015 Microsoft Partner Awards.

The 87th Academy Awards may have just passed, but in New Zealand, awards season fever is well and truly underway as the industry awaits the 2015 Microsoft Partner Awards.

Now in its eighth year, Kiwi business consulting firm Koorb Consulting is hoping to turn at least one of its three nominations into victory this year, as it seeks its 13th partner recognition from the tech giant.

Operating as a 100 percent owned and operated New Zealand company, Koorb’s main focus of business centres around implementing and supporting a range of Microsoft solutions, with a team of over 80 certified and experienced consultants across the country.

“We have a strong focus on a ‘one-company’ approach to our implementations, and we’re confident this is why our projects deliver quantifiable results,” says Nicholas Birch, joint MD, Koorb.

Providing support as Gold Partners of Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions and as a Silver Partner of Microsoft SharePoint, Koorb is a three-time finalist this year, being recognised in the Competency and Segment Award sections.

Within the Business Applications section, the Auckland-based company will fight it out with Adaptable Solutions, Datacom and Intergen for its CRM work with Independent Liquor, and will be hoping to fend off another Intergen challenge, and that of Sable37, in the ERP category following its partnership with Hamilton City Council.

In the Innovation Technology for Good Citizenship section, Koorb, recognised for its work with fellow Microsoft partner Plunket, will then face off against IT Engine on March 19 in Auckland.

“Each of the three projects we nominated for the Microsoft Partner Awards typify the business outcomes possible when you combine Microsoft’s industry leading technologies, a clear vison, and the ability to collaborate effectively," Birch adds.

“These projects represent the trust our customers place in us, something we are extremely appreciative of.

“We also appreciate the peer recognition, it’s a vote of confidence and a big thumbs up to the market that we’re doing the right thing for our customers.”

Since launching in 2008, the annual Partner Awards exists to recognise excellence in the IT sector from those companies that integrate Microsoft solutions into their products and services to accelerate innovation and go above and beyond customer expectations.
