Cyber focus hot topic as Dell SecureWorks hires new A/NZ GM

“I am honoured to be a member of such a progressive security organisation that truly understands the gravity of risk facing organisations around the world."

Australian information security expert Simon Ractliffe has joined Dell SecureWorks in the newly created role of director and general manager, Dell SecureWorks, Australia and New Zealand.

In his new role at the information security services provider, Ractliffe will be responsible for growing Dell SecureWorks’ presence across the A/NZ region, expanding the sales, marketing, security research and engineering teams.

Furthermore, he will also be developing Dell SecureWorks' channel program to extend its business opportunities in the region.

“I am honoured to be a member of such a progressive security organisation that truly understands the gravity of risk facing organisations around the world,” Ractliffe says.

“It’s one thing to join an organisation that is a leader in your area of expertise, but it’s quite another to see such a high level of focus, commitment and investment.

“The Dell SecureWorks team is dedicated to ensuring that clients have access to the very best security advice and cyber defence capability, and I look forward to driving the next phase of our growth in the A/NZ region.”

Ractliffe has more than 26 years of experience in the IT infrastructure market, spent mostly in Australia where he has served as general manager for IBM Internet Security Systems and CSC, becoming a key driver in the growth and eventual sale of the Australian MSSP, Earthwave Corporation to Dimension Data (NTT Group).

According to Tyler Winkler, who leads global Sales and Marketing for Dell SecureWorks, Ractliffe’s experience and expertise will be “invaluable” as the company seeks to help organisations in Australia and New Zealand deal with the constantly evolving cyber threats, which remains one of top concerns for business today.

“Simon is a tremendous addition to Dell SecureWorks’ executive team,” Winkler says. “He not only has extensive knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand business markets, but he has deep knowledge of the cyber security industry and the security challenges organisations are facing in this region.”

With thousands of customers in over 70 countries, Dell SecureWorks processes more than 85 billion cyber events daily.
