Symantec has launched its IT Risk Assurance Service in Australia and Insentra will exclusively provide it.
The pilot program consists of an assessment, enablement and managed services for disaster recovery, and Symantec has chosen the Sydney-based reseller to handle the local deployment.
Insentra managing director, Ronnie Altit, attributes the selection to a long and successful partnership with the security vendor.
“We have been working with Symantec for many years, and we were recently announced as A/NZ Services Partner of the Year for the third year in a row,” he said.
Beyond that, Altit said Insentra stood out for its strong focus on Symantec’s storage line of products.
From Insentra’s involvement in that space, it gained the attention of Symantec’s global products management team.
“They know the local team and had the confidence in our skills and capabilities to make this a successful service for Symantec,” Altit said.
Necessary experience
To be able to deliver this new service from Symantec, Altit said a solid understanding of servers, storage, cluster environments, and databases was needed.

“A broad suite of knowledge is a prerequisite, particularly to clusters and highly available environments,” he said.
Understanding the business implications of some of the risks that may exist in an organisation was also a consideration, such as being able to “translate IT risk to business one.”
As one of Symantec’s highest accredited partners in Asia, Altit said Insentra’s “breath and depth of experience” made it a top choice for Symantec.
“With the confidence of the global team and our extensive experience in this space, if any partner is going to make it successful in Australia, it is likely to be us,” he said.
