Today’s mobility breaks the rules of traditional, static Wi-Fi, according to Aruba Networks.
A/NZ managing director, Steve Coad, said Wi-Fi built as a coverage extension to conventional wired networks cannot cope with the dynamic nature of today’s demands.
“Known as ‘GenMobile,’ this new generation of tech savvy are using multiple devices and apps,” he said.
“They also demand to stay connected to everything, all the time, no matter where they are.”
While networks are being upgraded to meet the needs of modern BYOD, Coad said the IT helpdesks is also feeling the pressure to securely on-board and manage these devices.
The connected workplace
As business continue to struggle with the BYOD trend, this leaves room for partners and resellers to come in and solve the mobility challenge.
With the help of 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Coad said an all-wireless office environment can be achieved, as the wireless standard has been designed to be stable and cope with lots of connected devices.
Aruba’s own enterprise mobility solution is also designed to automate device on-boarding, with routine tasks potentially reducing the load on helpdesk resources.
The need for a modernised workplace network is what Coad foresees creating further business opportunities for partners and resellers.
“The benefits to customers are considerable, including increased productivity, reduced communication costs, as well as significant capital and running cost savings from right sizing fixed network infrastructure,” he said.
